Best Things to Do in New York This Weekend — Concerts, Shows & Tours

From Broadway smashes to Brooklyn block parties, here's what's actually worth your weekend in NYC.

Broadway This Weekend

The Theatre District has 35+ shows running every weekend. Hamilton, Wicked, The Lion King — the long-running smashes are always there, but Friday and Saturday are also when new productions tend to open. Check TKTS Booth in Times Square for same-day discounts of 20–50%, or compare prices across Telecharge and SeatGeek on NearEvent before buying.

Concerts Tonight

Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, Radio City — the big rooms anchor any NYC weekend. But the more interesting shows are at Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge, Brooklyn Steel, and Music Hall of Williamsburg. Smaller venues, $30–60 tickets, world-class touring acts. Filter for "Tonight" or "This Weekend" on the Discover page.

Sports Games

There is always a Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Rangers, Liberty, or NYCFC game this weekend. The Garden hosts NHL Saturday and NBA Sunday on a regular schedule from October to April. Yankee Stadium and Citi Field run home stands from late March to October. Tickets from $25 on StubHub and SeatGeek.

Walking Tours & Experiences

A Brooklyn pizza tour, a SoHo gallery walk, a Statue of Liberty crown ticket, the Edge observation deck — book skip-the-line through GetYourGuide on NearEvent. Free things to do: walking the High Line, the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset, free Fridays at MoMA.

Late Night

NYC nightlife runs until 4am legally. House Of Yes, Knockdown Center, and Public Records in Brooklyn for warehouse parties. Webster Hall, Le Bain, and The Box in Manhattan. The Lower East Side has more bars per block than anywhere else in the country.
